    Getting Around - Murcia

    Murcia Airport

Murcia-San Javier Airport (MJV) is located approximately 40km South East of Murcia. The easiest way to and from the airport is by bus. The number 73 bus runs three times a day, 7 days a week departing at 17:45, 19:15 and 22:45. The journey time is 45 minutes and a single fare costs €7.

It is possible to get a taxi from the airport to Murcia, or vice versa, but this is an expensive option and will cost around €65.

    Alicante Airport

Some visitors to Murcia may wish to use Alicante Airport. The airport is located considerably further away than Murcia-San Javier Airport (65km East), however, the airport is much bigger and offers many more flights.

A bus service to the city centre of Murcia runs each hour at a quarter past the hour from 7:15 am to 9:15pm. The return fare is €8.

    General Transport

Murcia’s old town has been largely pedestrianised making it perfect for exploring the restaurants, bars and cafes.

There is also a brand new tramline in the centre of the city. Only one of the proposed 4 lines has been completed so far but this takes you from the main train station to the old town, bullring and conference centre further north.
